Our nonprofit was founded out of love and urgency after our son, Lyon, was diagnosed with Leigh’s Syndrome; a rare, life-threatening mitochondrial disease affecting 1 in 100,000 children. At just 2 years old, Lyon began losing motor skills shortly after learning to walk. After months of testing, an MRI and genetic analysis confirmed a SU
Our nonprofit was founded out of love and urgency after our son, Lyon, was diagnosed with Leigh’s Syndrome; a rare, life-threatening mitochondrial disease affecting 1 in 100,000 children. At just 2 years old, Lyon began losing motor skills shortly after learning to walk. After months of testing, an MRI and genetic analysis confirmed a SURF-1 gene disorder; one with no current cure and limited research due to its rarity.
We are committed to raising awareness, supporting affected families, and funding critical research at UT Southwestern to help find a cure. Lyon’s fight has become our mission; to give hope to children battling terminal conditions and create a future where no child is left without answers.

Our Goal
To positively impact the lives of 10,000 children in need over the next five years by expanding access to basic necessities, educational support, and life-enriching programs that foster confidence, hope, and opportunity. Our ultimate goal is to find a cure to help the lives of many children that only dream and hope for a cure.
